An Electroencephalogram (EEG) is a painless, non-invasive test that records the brain's electrical activity. It is used to evaluate seizures, epilepsy, unexplained loss of consciousness, confusion, memory changes, sleep disorders, and other neurological conditions. Small electrodes are placed on the scalp to record brain wave activity while you relax. Most routine EEGs take approximately 30–60 minutes.

You will relax in a comfortable, quiet room. Small sensors (electrodes) are placed on your scalp with a gentle adhesive. The test is painless and takes about 30–60 minutes.

Your test will be reviewed and interpreted by your neurologist. Results are typically available within 5–7 business days and will be uploaded securely to your patient portal.
